Ruffed Grouse

Ruffed Grouse

Professional Ruffed Grouse hunting guide and outfitter in Northern California.

It comes as a surprise to many that California has a robust population of Ruffed Grouse in the very Northwest part of the state. Like all Ruffed Grouse – it takes a good dog to navigate the rough terrain and an even better shot to hit one through the trees. The subspecies of ruffed grouse in California has a beautiful russet color tail fan.

We use pointing dogs that are also trained to retrieve for upland bird hunts.
