Predators

California has its fair share of predators – we primarily target gray fox and coyote in Northern California. Frequently they can be found in the same vicinity for a combination hunt.

Gray Fox

During winter when hides are prime you can find big heavy coated gray fox throughout California. Gray fox are targeted with hand calls. It’s a blast watching 1, 2, 3, or sometimes more foxes come running into a call station where you have to be quick with the gun before they sense something isn’t right and disappear into the brush.

The foxes in California can be great for taxidermy or wall hangers. Let us know what type of hunt you’d prefer and we will make it happen.

2022-23 Gray Fox Season: November 24 – February 28

No limit

Coyote

We target coyote with hand and electronic calls. Coyotes are smart and call sets must be well thought out to be productive. When done right it can lead to some fast action. The coyote season is all year, we primarily target them when fox season is open because that tends to be when the hides are prime. Sometimes we’ll begin hunting them mid-October.
